I think this is very true and something my mom and I have talked about. Boys from my own generation (I was born in 1982) were raised by moms who mostly stayed home. The more “traditional” way. Now, women aren’t doing the stay at home mom thing as much. Yet we still have to do all the work associated with that PLUS work. It can’t all fall on us and we get bitter when it does.
I feel I got lucky with my boyfriend because he was a confirmed bachelor when we met. He had spent years on his own but wanted something different so he was ready to give up his single life style to be a family man.
I’m hoping I am raising my boys to be the type of men like my boyfriend (and not their father who this article was pretty much written about). I have no problem working and taking care of the kids but I can NOT do it all!
